Celebs Proving It’s Never Too Late to Make That Career Switch

February 21, 2020 By anthony Leave a Comment

Would you like to have a different career? Worried that it may be too late? If the answer to these questions is yes then we have a touch of inspiration for you today which proves that it is never too late to make that career switch. Simply Academy have a brilliant campaign around this, focusing on celebrities who have switched their careers, from day jobs to the bright lights, and hopefully the stories of these celebs will help motivate you to make that career change.

Ricky Gervais

We all know Ricky Gervais as one of the world’s greatest comics, but for many years he was otherwise engaged in his career as an event manager. In fact it was not until Gervais was almost 40 that he wrote and starred The Office, which of course has gone on to have huge levels of success across the world.

Sheryl Crowe

Prior to winning Grammy awards and selling out stadiums, songstress Sheryl Crowe was a high school music teacher. Crowe managed to get he big break after successfully auditioning to be a backing singer for Michael Jackson on his Bad world tour. From that position Crowe launched herself as a solo artist, and the rest as they say, is history.

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone has had a glittering acting career which began after he wrote the script for Rocky, and gave a blistering performance in the movie. Rocky wasn’t born until Sly was 30 however and prior to that he had a day job as a zoo cleaner. Just imagine the star of Rocky, Rambo and the The Expendables, mucking out the lions cage.

Christopher Walken

The wonderful actor Christopher Walken was 34 years old when he got his big break in the Woody Allen classic Annie Hall. What you may not know about the brilliant Walken is that prior to his impressive career in Hollywood, he was in fact a lion tamer working with a circus, perhaps Stallone could have cleared out the cage!

J.K.Rowling

Scottish born Rowling is the mastermind behind the Harry Potter, but prior to creating the boy-wizard, Rowling was working as a secretary for Amnesty International.  It was here that she first began writing Harry Potter and this of course this completely changed her life and her career.

As you can see, simply because you have chosen one career does not mean that you have to give up on the idea of switching career paths.
