If you’re curious about how new developments in technology can impact the medical field, Matias Campiani has some tips to discover a few ways in which new technology will impact the medical field, in the next few years.

Technology and the Medical Field: How Technology Will Impact the Medical Field in the Next Few Years

  1. 3D holograms will allow doctors and patients to view a patient’s organs in a whole new light

In the coming years, doctors will be able to view realistic 3D holograms of their patients’ organs, which will make it far easier for doctors to view and interact with a patient’s organs, in order to get a full view of a patient’s current condition.

As a bonus, doctors will also be able to use the same realistic 3D holograms in order to explain patient’s illnesses to them as well as future procedures which their patients may have to undergo in order to fight their illness.

If you’re curious as to how such 3D holograms will be created, each 3D hologram will be created using data obtained through traditional CT and MRI cat scans.

  1. New technology will make sure that medical professionals are able to effectively communicate with their patients

As of 2018, less than 10% of hospitals in the US can claim to be able to trade records with other hospitals and medical specialists, which means that files still have to be manually copied and physically sent to medical specialists such as radiologists, urologists, and cardiologists.

In fact, many hospitals are still unable to receive digital copies of a patients medical records from their general practitioner and have to ask new patients to fill out several pages of forms, in order to gain an accurate history of each patient’s medical history. In some cases, doctors may make the wrong medical decision, simply as they don’t have immediate access to all of a patient’s medical files.

However, in the next few years, you can expect hospitals and medical practitioners such as general practitioners to download brand new innovative software, which is designed to ensure that hospitals and medical practitioners are able to share crucial information such as patient files, with each other. Which will eliminate the need for patients to have to write out their full medical history, every time that they visit a new medical professional.

  1. Handheld devices will be used by doctors in order to accurately diagnose thousands of conditions, within a few seconds

One of the major technological developments which are currently being tested is the use of handheld devices which will help doctors correctly diagnose their patients’ ailments, within seconds. Which is a huge breakthrough as at the moment, the vast majority of doctors have to run complicated diagnostic tests which may take several days or weeks to process.

Which means that patients, many of which have serious diseases, may have to wait several weeks to find out the results of their tests!

One thing is for certain, in the next five years you can expect new technology to dramatically change the medical field.

[…] Tech will always love tools. However, it is really important that you are flexible and that you streamline proper tech use for project reporting, management and even ongoing communications. It is possible that you simply love something like Asana or email conversations but if the PR team you hire is using something else, you need to let them use the same system that got them the results you hired them for. When you enforce the use of your system on the PR team, everything will happen at a slower pace. […]
