When you see that person driving in an expensive car or shopping at a luxury retailer, or driving out of the city’s best gated community, there’s a tendency to think that that person has it all. We believe that when a person is able to live like this and has an 8 Figure Lifestyle, they must have everything.
This is not accurate at all. In fact chances are, this person has exactly the same amount of things that you have. The person has to sacrifice and to deny herself things that they might really want to have.
The difference however might be what things this person is holding on to, and what things the person was willing to let go of in order to grab the things that makes success.
Success requires that you avoid scams, and that you not only reach as hard and as high as you can, but that your hand is empty when you reach so that you can grab onto success as it speeds by. Your hands need to be empty because the grip on success can be slippery and grabbing that brass ring demands your full attention.
So if you are not at the level of success that you would like to be, it may not be a question of not enough hard work, or even dreaming big. It may be that some of the things you are holding onto are keeping you from being successful. So, the question is, are you prepared to let go of certain things and maintain good habits in order to grab your dreams?
Here’s a list of some of the things you may be holding on to that are preventing you from flying.
Certain friends
One of the most difficult things to do is to accept that friends that you have do not contribute to your desire to be successful. In fact they detract from or prevent it from happening. This may be due their behaviors which is either destructive or negative, or maybe due to their attitudes which are defeatist or too negative. When you are seeking to become very successful, you must be around people that are supportive of those efforts. The support cannot only be in words it must also be in actions.
A supportive friend will put aside their own issues or shortcomings to make sure that it doesn’t negatively affect you. If you have someone like this around you, you can be sure that that person is keeping you from your success. You should do reviews of all of the people in your life and find those that fit this profile. Your options are speaking with these people honestly and letting them know what you need for them to be in your life, or simply removing them from your life.
Bad habits
Climbing the ladder of success demands shedding bad habits. Bad habits run the range from procrastination, to laziness, to an inability to self-analyze and self-correct. Letting go of bad habits not only rids you of activities that keep you from your success, you also become stronger by proving to yourself that you can read yourself of these bad habits.
So do yourself a favor, be honest with yourself about what bad habits you have and take on the challenge of getting rid of them. Every successful person has had to do this, the ones were successful have taken on this Challenge and won.
