Growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, I learned to appreciate three ‘things:’ good Mexican food, reading great books, and the rewards of making an active difference in others’ lives. As an undergraduate at Georgetown University, my passion for literature and original thinking led to some pretty heated papers along the way to getting my B.A. in English and history in 2009. Lucky for me, my professors didn’t mind my crusades for the cause of nineteenth-century orphans or marginalized voices in Shakespeare. After graduating, I looked for a real-time opportunity that would enable me to apply my desire to affect change for the benefit of those most in need. I feel both honored and blessed to be fulfilling that hope as a member of the Citizen Effect team. When I’m not reading project proposals, I can be found watching movies, playing with my Norfolk terrier, delving into fiction, eating peanut butter, or talking to whoever is willing to share a story with me.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Citizen Effect is all about having a direct impact on the lives of
others so we track the impact you are having. When you reach a
milestone (eg, $1,000 raised; 1 completed project), a badge will
appear on your profile. The more badges, the greater impact you have
had.
