The purpose of UNI's adult education programs is to improve neighborhood residents' prospects in seeking employment, in parenting and in participating in community and civic affairs. UNI provides classes in Adult Basic Education (pre-GED), GED studies, English as a Second Language, and computer skills. The community has enthusiastically responded to these core programs. This project allows 20 low income adults to receive 9 weeks of computer classes. Specifically the project funds the salary of a teacher to conduct a program of two 2.5 hour classes per week for 9 weeks.
